Worse the 2nd time around

Posted : 13 years ago on 3 April 2011 04:08 (A review of Daredevil)

It was on HBO and i wanted to see if i still hated it. Heck I hated it even more. The acting is so bad I wanted to throw up. The writing was terrible some of the most corniest lines I ever heard. The acting was pretty dull and boring. It was so bad I was laughing at the fights. They just picked the wrong people for this movie. Probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen...twice!

A Hell of a movie

Posted : 13 years ago on 2 April 2011 01:03 (A review of Black Swan)

"Im the new swan queen." 6 Oscar films down, 4 to go, and this is the weirdest out of them. Its one hell of a ride. The music is just amazing. Directing perfect. The psychological state of the movie makes you say "wtf" most of the time. Natalie Portman is just amazing in it. I would love to see this movie again, and again.
After the first 15 minutes I though this would suck and it would be overatted. But shit started to happened, and i mean weird shit. She started to go crazy and the movie started to pick up. Portman does an amazing job selling her psychological state through the whole movie.
The music in this movie is pure greatness. It goes with all the scenes in the movie. Every scene in this movie, yes including the sex scene is a must see or hear.
I really loved this movie, and will eventually buy it. Its the best psychological thriller I ever saw. It will go down as one of the best Oscar films of all time. In my opinion this should be the best picture.

This is what movies are made of

Posted : 13 years ago on 27 March 2011 01:16 (A review of The Fighter (2010))

"We're not talking about his trainer, sweetheart! We're talking about his manager, that's me!" Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Mark Walhberg, some of my favorite actors. Hearing about all the greatness that Bale, Leo, and Adams put on. Leo and Bale win Oscars. This movie lived up to the hype. A movie that has outstanding performances, some great drama, and of course Boston accents and Boston language. Now who doesnt like that?

Amy Adams sticks out like a shore thumb in this movie. We know her as the cute princess in Enchanted, the braces wearing cutie in Catch Me If You Can, and the nice and funny nun in Doubt, shes none of those in this. She is in your face, dropping F bombs at you and calling you words you dad hasnt even taught you yet. Bale my favorite actor, playing what I think is his best performance showing why he won that Oscar. I have never seen him be so arrogant, funny, and heart warming in one role. Melisa Leo was simply brillant she yelled at you and taught you lessons and brought you to tears. Marky Mark, well we know how he can be.

I have seen 5 best picture nominees so far for this year's Oscars, and I must say this is the best drama ive seen in a while. I was glued to the screen since it started, it is one of the best movies of all time.

Beautiful, Amazing

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 23 March 2011 04:46 (A review of The Godfather: Part II)

"You broke my heart, you broke my heart." Amazing, beauty, gripping, outstanding are just some words to describe what some call "The Sequels of all Sequels." One of the best sequels ever made. The first time I watched this movie I fell in love, some people think I am a little crazy because I like it a lot more than the first. Yes the first is awesome, but this is much better.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are just amazing in this movie. De Niro won an Oscar for this and defiantly deserved it. Pacino should have won, he was awesome in this movie. He mad everything so intense and after everytime he yells you just look to the person next to you and say "this guy can act" Diane Keaton was also very good in this.

The movie flows very well. The flashbacks are really played out well, and you are not confused on which is the modern time and the flashback. The cinematography once again is amazing. Like the first the dialouge is top notch. The music flows with every scene in this movie and brings it all together. I teared up in one part where Michael hugs Fredo and the music was at the right part and because it was so perfect it brought tears to my eyes.

Another perfect movie for me. Probably the best sequel I have ever saw, and will always be in my top 5 for best movies of all time.

A Must, Must See

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 23 March 2011 04:31 (A review of Casino)

If you havent seen this movie you haven't lived. This movie is just plain awesome. Yes it might be long, 3 hours to be exact, but the movie flies by you and you are smacked in the face by Scorsese at his best. It is mostly narrated and it almost feels like a documentary. In this movie everything falls into place and everything is nearly perfect.

I believe that Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci both got snubbed at the Oscars. They should have gotten a nomination, I think De Niro was awesome in this movie and really impressed me....AGAIN. Pesci is at the top of his game in this movie, he is very brutal in this movie, and defiantly makes you think how tough he really is. Sharon Stone not so much, just tons of overacting, the Oscar nomination should have been taken away. It was also nice to see James Woods, and Don Rickles give good performances

If you have 3 hours to spare pick up this movie you will not be dissapointed. I actually had to fast forward back through the first hour and a half of the movie, due to my On Demand going back to the beigning because I stopped it for too long, as I was fast forwarding I just wanted to stop and watch the whole thing again. And I would!

Awesome job

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 20 March 2011 11:31 (A review of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey)

Easily my favorite documentary of all time. The kid did a great job in this movie. Explaining all the sub genres, and just exploring every aspect of metal, the good and the bad side. Rather you like metal or not the movie is very well made and is just plan awesome

A good cast, but a average movie

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 16 March 2011 09:15 (A review of Righteous Kill)

Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Mellisa Leo, Donnie Walhberg, and John Leguizamo. Good cast right, must be a good movie, WRONG! A movie that had so much potential falls really short. The movie had the easiest twist to figure out, I knew it the whole time. The script was absolutely terrible in every way. The good actors that I just listed could not have save this movie. The only good thing about the movie was it had some really cool parts, but it also had some parts that just dragged and dragged. The best part was Rob Dyrdek even though he didnt last long, the few lines he had he did really well.

Just Plain Dumb

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 16 March 2011 09:10 (A review of Case 39 (2009))

This movie was just plain dumb. It wasnt even scary. It tried so hard to be original but it wasnt. We have seen a demon child before, and it didnt even make that fun to watch. The acting was very bad, except for the little kid. Cooper once again over acts like he always does. Just a bad movie I wish I never watched.

More romantic comedies need to be like this

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 16 February 2011 08:50 (A review of Manhattan (1979))

Diane Keaton, Woody Allen, and Meryl Streep, just with those actors I will watch. Now at first this movie was really slow for 10 minutes, but all of a sudden it starts to pick up, and I started to get really into this movie. The cinematography of this movie is great. I dont think anything will surpass The Assination of Jesse James or The Godfather 1,2, but that is just me. There are alot of scenes that have some really cool looks to them. The story is very good, actually theres a couple stories between only 6 people, and they all tie together, VERY COOL. I though that Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Mariel Hemingway all did really good in this movie. Meryl Streep had a very small part, but she was also good. I just could not buy Michael Murphy's acting, it was so unemotional, I could not buy into him at all. I think every romantic comedies need to be like this and Annie Hall, the people who make these types of movies these days need to watch this and Annie Hall, because they are both very different, unlike the ones we see today. Great movie, cinematography is great, acting is great, oh and its funny, that counts too.

Not just about his arm

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 13 February 2011 06:28 (A review of 127 Hours (2010))

What a movie! Danny Boyle shows us again why he is great at directing. He added some great things to this movie to make us not just watch James Franco in a gripping performance under a rock the whole time. A movie that is more than a movie but an experience of your life. James Franco earns his nominations and should really win I felt his pain throughout the whole movie, and I hope Boyle wins because what he did with this movie was very interesting. An awesome movie, go see it in theatres or the experience might not be as exciting.
